About the Title: The whole event took two hours and two minutes to capture. An hour of Partial Eclipse before and after the Total Eclipse. The Total Eclipse only lasted two minutes, but what an amazing two minutes!
I was fortunate that I lived fairly near the the path of Total Solar Eclipse that occurred on August 21st, 2017. I drove to Tetonia, ID, a 3 1/2 hour drive or so from Bozeman, MT. After the Eclipse, the drive home took significantly longer due to the traffic jungle, more on that later.
The Solar Eclipse was a highly anticipated event and there was quite a buzz on the internet about it. As early as May or June, there were stories beginning to appear about hotels selling out (and raising rates) as if the western United States was expecting a mass reverse exodus. As the date grew nearer. the stories began to increase in their fervor ....
