Grizzly Bear 399
Queen of the Tetons
Grand Teton National Park
Sadness overcame me when I read the news that day. Our beloved Queen of the Tetons was tragically taken away. Word followed that there was a swerve. A Spirit saved, a Spirit risen. The greatest Mama Bear of all-time would have done anything for her cubs during her time on earth all the way to the end. A candle-light vigil and ashes to Pilgrim. Grizzly Bear 399 is Legendary. Please Rest in Peace. We will miss you and never forget.
I honor and cherish Grizzly Bear 399 and her cubs with my Tribute. I followed 399 for several years and was amazed how she would love and care for her cubs. Please read my Tribute to the Queen of the Tetons above.
Any proceeds from Grizzly 399 sales in 2024 will be used to donate metal prints to auctions and benefits for groups like Kiwanis of Belgrade, Hope and the Holidays (toys for kids and holiday food baskets whose families can't afford them), Eagle Mount (Bozeman), school auctions (Belgrade School and Billings Central HS Mayfair Auction), Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (Gallatin Valley) and The MT Media Coalition. My donations in this past year outpaced my 399 sales. Photography is not a full-time job for me, more of a passion thing and a way I can give back and support my local community.
I want to honor and pay Tribute to Grizzly Bear 399. I loved the example she set. She taught us how loving and caring a Grizzly Bear can be and in doing so she taught us to be better humans. Spread the love, not the hate.
"Two Hours and Two Minutes"
This is by by far one of my favorite pieces of art in my collection. Solar Eclipse Timeline was from 2017 and includes the Diamond Ring. The images were captured in Tetonia, Idaho.over a period of two hours and two minutes. The partial eclipse is depicted by the orange sun being partial covered by the moon and takes an hour prior and after the total eclipse. The to
Welcome to my website. I am Terry Sweeney and Photography is definitely my passion in life. I have been living and working in Montana basically my entire life and taking photographs for well over 30 years.
During the day, I work for a large farm & agricultural based co-op. Our core group of customers is made up of Farmers and Ranchers, that help Feed the World. Being a co-op we return the profits back to the members (love this part of what I do).
When not performing those duties, I have the opportunity to live in Southwest Montana and pursue my passion of photography. I am also in the fortunate position of not having to sell my artwork in high volume. My focus is on quality not quantity.
I support my local community by making donations of my metal prints to organizations like Kiwanis of Belgrade, Hope and the Holidays (toys for kids whose families can't afford them), Eagle Mount (Bozeman), school auctions (Belgrade School and Billings Central HS Mayfair Auction), Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (Gallatin Valley) and The MT Media Coalition. Photography is not a full-time job for me, more of a passion thing and a way I can give back and support my local community.
This is when I get to the Why!
I have always been drawn to photography. My father gave me my first 35 mm camera and that was the beginning. It took me a number of years and thousands of shots before I began capturing the images you see here on my site.
One of my goals is to create interesting and unique fine art photography. I want to create art that has meaning to me. Then I get to share the beauty that I capture with you.
I strive to create what I call "100 year images". These are images that people 100 years from now will still be enjoying. They will see what our slice of the world looked like while we were here.
My favorite locations are the National Parks, primarily Yellowstone, Teton, Glacier and everywhere in between.
My favorite subjects seem to be Barns and Bears ... and all the incredible wildlife and scenery that Montana and the Rocky Mountains have to offer.
My co-pilot Jackson (see pic) rides shotgun and handles security. I handle the driving and scouting for the next image.
I once read that you should buy art that moves you and that you have a personal connection to in some way. Art you want to look at everyday, perhaps brings you joy.
Since I have the time to invest in each order that I receive, I ensure that everything is 100% perfect with your order.
